A Street Cat Named Bob premiers tonight in London, with attendees including the Duchess of Cambridge.

James Bowden is a now famous Islington busker, who wrote an autobiography about how a cat strayed into his flat and changed his life.

Bowden was at the time struggling with substance abuse when he came across an injured cat. When Bowden couldn’t locate its owner he couldn’t rid himself of the cat!

He soon named him Bob, and together they not only became model citizens, but also wrote a book and have now been depicted in a movie.

The filming of the movie was mainly carried out in North London, specifically Islington and the surrounding areas. The movie is a classic tale of love overcoming all odds, and is sure to warm the hearts of parents and children alike in the run up to Christmas.

The Duchess is supporting the premiere as the screening will benefit her charity, Action on Addiction.
