The Meritus Collective

Named after Felix Mendelssohn, whose pseudonym was Meritus, the collective comprises of 5 musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra. John Cuthbert (Piano), Kathleen Greenfield (Flute), George Sleighthome (Clarinet), Jade Brightwell (Violin), Davina Panjanaden (Viola), James Greenfield (Cello), make up the intimate ensemble.

As the resident ensemble of Lauderdale House, the quintet originally formed to ‘bring together musicians of all instruments who share a passion for chamber music.’

Members of the collective also show a wide range music performance from playing in baroque orchestras to working with opera companies, musical theatre companies and pop artists such as Rick Wakeman and Ed Sheeran.

Located in Lauderdale House, originally built in 1582 as a private home for three-times Lord Mayor of London, Sir Richard Martin, the Highgate estate is a pleasant setting for an afternoon of chamber music.
