London Fashion Week won’t only be unveiling clothes this year.

A committee, made up of high-profile members of the media and fashion industry, will be announcing a new Model Agents Association.

The Association, in conjunction with the British Fashion Council, will aim to  protect and give a voice to models against sexual harassment.

Post-Weinstein

It follows a wave of complaints from models about inappropriate behaviour since the scandal over Harvey Weinstein erupted.

So called “porn chic” fashion photographer Terry Richardson was banned by magazines, and another veteran photographer, Bruce Weber, accused of sexual misconduct.

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week starts on Monday and will see thousands of models descend on the capital.

The helpline number and email address go live at the start of next week. But models who have experienced illegal abuse will be told to go straight to the police.
