Rapper Octavian denies allegations of abuse from former partner
London-based rapper Octavian has denied allegations of abuse, after his ex-girlfriend posted a series of Instagrams and tweets accusing him of physical, emotional and verbal abuse.
London rapper Octavian Oliver Godji, commonly known as Octavian, has denied all allegations of abuse made by his ex-girlfriend, social media influencer Hana.
In a series of Instagram posts, Hana (better known by her stage name Emo Baby) accused Godji of verbal, physical and emotional abuse. The pair had been in a relationship for three years, but broke up earlier this year.
Emo Baby said that Godji “set out” to control her from the beginning of their relationship
She claimed that the first incident of physical abuse occurred when she became pregnant with their child.
She wrote, “After pressuring me to get an abortion, he attacked me for the first time, kicked me in my stomach, burst my lip, attacked me with a hammer and threatened to kill me.”
“Never in a million years did I believe that I’d endure the violence of being pushed down the stairs, attacked with weapons, that I would be struck in the face, thrown out into the streets, dragged out by my hair, or that I’d be gagged and silenced by somebody I loved.”
She also shared a video alleging that Godji was verbally abusive and physically attacked her.
She tweeted, “Octavian is trying to silence me on Instagram my evidence taken down so making a thread here starting with a video of him attacking me”.
The video shows shaky footage of a man in a kitchen saying, “You’re f***ing disrespecting the s*** out of me”. This is followed by a woman crying and pleading with him to stop hurting her.
“One video showing nothing”
In a video response on Instagram, Godji said, “Go and watch that video again. Go and see if there’s any real physical abuse in the video.
“I’ve been going out with this girl for three years and then she posts one video showing nothing and everyone thinks I’m an abuser because of how she wrote her statement.”
He accused her of lying and deliberately waiting to share this information until the day before the release of his debut album “ruin my life”.
Godji said that his legal team were going to deal with the situation “properly”.
