Vulgar. Not usually a word that you would expect to hear when describing fashion.
But a recently opened exhibition at the Barbican Centre aims to use this concept to change how we look at fashion.
The new exhibit is having a significant impact across the country. A leading lecturer in fashion from Manchester Metropolitan University is visiting the gallery and feels that people are now dressing in a more vulgar way.
However, this is a different story on the high street. Hannah Torro from ‘Dress for Less’ in Islington feels that her clients prefer a classic style but says that there are now fewer constraints on what is acceptable.
It seems this new exhibition is having an impact not just in the local area but across the fashion industry as a whole.
