A drunken night out at the Lexington Pub on Penton Street escalated into a 5 against 1 attack leaving the victim unconscious for more than 5 hours.

Khonde Olunde and Yasir Ali allegedly attacked victim Craig Hill outside the pub at 1:40am on the 2nd February 2017 in Islington.

The jury at Wood Green Crown court heard that the CCTV footage showed the victim being punched, thrown to the ground, kicked in the stomach by multiple males and took 3 strikes to the head with a motorcycle crash helmet.

Olunde and Ali admitted to being there at the time and date of the attack but have pleaded not guilty to their involvement claiming that they were amongst the people would were standing back and not getting involved.

The police interview held in Islington Police Station read out by DC John Moore  to the jury, included details of the defendants sustaining ligament injuries to their right leg on the day they were taken in for questioning.

The witness Maria Zabala who was the pub manager on the night of the attack, told the jury in court that she had witnessed 2 males fleeing the scene on mopeds while the others ran away.

The 2 defendants started their night at O’Neals pub in Kings Cross and continued the night joining 3 more males at the Lexington pub.

They are due to be sentenced on Monday 27th November 2017.
