A councillor has accused the Labour Party of ignoring anti-Semitic comments.

The female Labour Party member allegedly posted anti-semitic content on social media. She has now been suspended from the party.

Mr Langleben said that the unnamed female shared various anti-semitic posts on different social media outlets, including the @GazaBoatConvoy twitter account.

He explained that even though he raised the issue to party officials in July, the accused continued to attend campaigns and events for months.

Mr Langleben said that he had hoped speaking up about this issue on Twitter would ‘apply the necessary pressure for action to be taken’.

He himself has been subject to anti-semitic abuse, saying: ‘The response has been overwhelmingly positive. But clearly there’s been a whole bunch of anti-Semitic filth thrown at me.’

Mr Langleben then went on to explain how: ‘The Labour Party has had 100 years of fighting the anti-Semitic far right, but now needs to learn how to deal with anti-Semitism dressed up in the language of the left.’

Labour member Shami Chakrabarti, led an enquiry into anti-semitism within the party, after the suspension of MP Nad Shah and ex-London mayor Ken Livingstone for anti-semitic behaviour.
