A man armed with a cross-bow has died after being shot by armed-police in South-East London this morning.
The Metropolitan Police have said that the man was trying to force his way into in a building in Bywater Place, Surrey Quays, and was threatening to hurt the people inside.

Unarmed police tried to talk him down.
The police marksmen were called in after the man had forced entry into the building.
He died on the scene despite efforts to give him first aid.
An investigation has been launched by Watchdog, which is the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
