The video, that celebrates London’s creative communities and contribution to fashion features some of the city’s leading creatives. It includes singer-songwriter, Mahalia; designer and television personality, Tan France; and TikTok star, Victor Kunda.
The video starts with repeating “London is the greatest city in the world”. It continues to celebrate the various cultures that make up London’s tapestry, as well as celebrating British foods, iconic brands, music and events.
Many of London’s iconic venues and events get a shout out, including Ronnie Scott’s jazz club, a musical institution in Soho that has attracted stars of jazz since 1959.
Newer nights out featured include Bar Salsa, an “authentic South American themed nightclub” with venues in Temple and Haggerston, as well as Fabric, the nightclub in Farringdon that opened in 1999.
The video also paid homage to London-grown musicians including David Bowie, Amy Winehouse and The Clash.
London Fashion Week is 40
London Fashion Week is a biannual celebration of British design and style that runs for a week in February and in the autumn. This year, it is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and is presented by drinks brand 1664 Blanc.
It is one of the four major fashion weeks, alongside Paris Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week.
London Fashion Week began in 1984 and was held in tents erected in a West London car park. It featured debuts from designers including the now legendary John Galliano.
The programme of events is organised by non-profit group, The British Fashion Council (BFC), who aim to promote British style and trade in the UK and abroad.
