The Metropolitan Police are appealing to the public to help search for a man, after a stabbing occurred outside of a mosque in Deptford. The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Abdullahi Mohamed, aged 24, is being sought in connection with the incident, which occurred right outside the Deptford Islamic Centre on Childers Street on Friday, February 9th.
Efforts to locate him are underway, with police releasing an image of him to aid their search.
Detective Constable James Richardson emphasised the seriousness of the situation:
“Mohamed is fully aware that police are trying to locate him for this offence. Anyone who knows him or has information on his whereabouts should contact us.
“This was an extremely violent attack, using a large machete, and Mohamed is believed to be dangerous.”
Authorities have clarified that the incident is not believed to be a hate crime.
