Dearest Gentle Reader, Bridgerton is back for Season 3! The show has returned after two years, and will follow the third Bridgerton child – Colin (Luke Newton) – around the ton.
The first four episodes have been released on Netflix, and social media is already buzzing with anticipation to see how the two-part series unfolds.

Last season, released in 2022, followed Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
The eight episodes had all the typical drama from around the ton, including an enemies-to-lovers romance, a ditched wedding, and the potential end of a friendship.
Kate’s younger sister, Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), was Anthony’s original betrothed, but the Bridgerton name was almost in ruins after Anthony fell for Kate instead.
Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) revealed her identity to her best friend – Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) as the author behind Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers. Expecting to be met with praise, Penelope instead found her closest friendship on the rocks.

What can we expect from Season 3?
We already know that Season 3 will be following Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after he’s returned from international travels in search of a wife.
In Seasons 1 and 2 there was a lot of alternating unrequited feelings between Colin and Penelope, and it looks like the development of that *friendship* is going to be the focus of the latest season.
And, of course, fans are waiting with baited breath to see how the Shonda Rhimes-glow up will affect this season’s leading man. The executive producer has been known for turning the male background characters on her shows – including Grey’s Anatomy – into leading men with subtle adjustments to their appearance and costumes. Bridgerton brought this internet phenomenon to a new audience with Anthony’s (Jonathan Bailey) transition to season star in 2022.
