A plumbing company has bought its rival in a £22.5m takeover after a nearly decade long fued.
Victoria Plum (formerly Victoria Plumb) and Victorian Plumbing have accused each other of trading off their names, a debate which boiled over into the courts in 2016.
Victoria Plum successfully sued its longer-named nemesis for over £1.7m.
Victorian Plumbing boosted its own website when internet users searched for Victoria Plum, and the court ruled they had not done enough to highlight the difference.
But while Victoria Plum came out on top in that battle, Victorian Plumbing has managed to pull the plug on its rival once and for all with a £22.5m takeover, after Victoria Plum went into administration in October 2023.
