Paul Weller, Kneecap, Primal Scream, and singer-songwriter Liam Bailey announced for ‘Gig for Gaza’ aid concert, held on Friday, 13th December at the O2 Academy Brixton.
Organised by Crosstown Concerts and Paul Weller, the former Jam frontman has curated the line-up for the gig, with more artists to be announced in the coming weeks.
The special fundraiser will raise money for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. All proceeds from the show will go directly to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) and Gaza Forever. Both charities work to provide essential aid, including food, shelter, and medical supplies, for those in Gaza.
A press release for the Gig For Gaza event reads, “This is an opportunity to enjoy a night of powerful music, and make a tangible difference in the lives of people facing unimaginable hardship. Every ticket and donation counts.”
Along with musical performances, the evening will also feature short films and guest speakers on the situation of Palestinians in Gaza.
The official artwork was designed by Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack – who have consistently used their platform to demand an immediate ceasefire on the Israel-Hamas war.
Paul Weller himself has also been outspoken in his support for a ceasefire using his recent UK tour, bringing the Palestinian flag onstage each night.
Pre-sale tickets are available on Wednesday, 13 November, at 0900 GMT, with general on-sale beginning Friday, 15 November, with the links being shared soon.
