The 76th birthday of King Charles was marked by a 41 gun salute from the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery in Green Park.
He earlier paid a visit to a Coronation Food Hub in Deptford, south-east London. It was launched on his birthday last year, in a bid to bridge the gap between food need and food waste in the UK, amid the cost-of-living crisis.
King Charles was greeted by Sir Kenneth Olisa, Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
The Royal Family has wished the King a happy birthday, with the Prince and Princess of Wales sharing a photo of the monarch during a recent royal tour.
The message read: “Wishing a very Happy Birthday to His Majesty The King!”
