This Thursday marks the last day the ‘Chatty Cabins’ scheme will be in action this year.

Since February, Transport for London wrapped the IFS Cloud Cable Cars in special wrapping and has question prompts inviting people to start conversations.

Tickets can be bought online and allow people to get a free 20 minute trip back and forth, a conversation and a hot drink. TfL says loneliness disproportionately affects communities such as people with disabilities, single parents and young people.

Deputy Mayor for Communities and Social Justice, Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard, said:

“Initiatives like ‘Chatty Cabins’ provide a lovely opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and celebrate what makes our city so special. Loneliness can affect anyone, but small moments like this remind us of the power of human connection.”

Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London tweeted:

‘Chatty Cabins’ is a great way to share experiences, celebrate what makes our city special, and help tackle loneliness. I’d like to encourage Londoners to take a ride on the IFS Cloud Cable Car, enjoy the views and help foster a stronger sense of community in London.
