A man has been found guilty of stealing two pairs of headphones from a TK Maxx store.
City of London Magistrates Court heard yesterday how Mr Delinski was chased out of the store in January last year.
On arrest, he tested positive for cocaine and opiates.
As he stood in the dock, Mr Delinski immediately pleaded guilty to the theft and said he regretted his actions.
His lawyer, Mr Grace, told the court that Mr Delinski expressed more regret privately saying “when am I going to grow up?”
The court heard how Mr Delinski is currently unemployed and has long-suffered from drug addiction. Mr Grace told he court that Mr Delinski had been clean for a period of five years. However, he had recently relapsed due to his separation from his wife and children.
The judge sentenced Mr Delinski to an electrically monitored curfew between 20:00 and 06:00 for four weeks, reduced from six weeks in the case of a not-guilty plea.
He must also complete 30 days of rehabilitation workshops.
