Nearly 400 students have left school to join a pro-Palestinian march calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Students from Tower Hamlets have joined the School Strike For Palestine movement, with marches also taking place in Bristol.
The protesters marched to the office of Bethnal Green and Bow MP Rushanara Ali, after she voted against a ceasefire in the Middle East in Wednesday’s vote in Parliament.
Organisers say the purpose of the marches is to call for a “ceasefire now”.

On Wednesday, MPs in the House of Commons voted 293 to 125 against calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, although 50 Labour MPs voted in opposition to Keir Starmer’s stance.
Though the movement has a national focus, marches will also take place in Harrow and Redbridge on Friday.
