Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy attempted to pursue Spanish midfielder Isco during the summer, racing against the likes of Italian giants Juventus for his signature.

However, the Real Madrid player, who was originally bought by Jose Mourinho during his time at the club, vowed to stay put and fight for his spot.

However, Zinedine Zidane has not called on Isco as much as he would have liked, and the player has started to think that he might be better off elsewhere.

However, sources at Standard Sport say that Isco is still admired by Spurs manager Pochettino, despite Spurs boasting a deep pool of attacking midfield players.

Isco’s situation is helped by the fact that his contract expires at the end of next season, meaning that Real Madrid may want to cash in sooner in order to gain some revenue from the player.

Spurs did make an enquiry at the end of the transfer window but the deal did not come off, it is likkley that if a bid comes in, the deal will be a loan with option to buy.
