West Ham are to offer a new contract to their manager Slaven Bilic at the end of the season.

Slaven Bilic replaced Sam Allardyce in June 2015, and his three year contract expires in 15 months.

Talks about a renewing the contract were due to take place before Christmas, but were postponed after West Ham’s poor start to the season. But results have improved significantly, winning six and drawing two of their 11 Premier League fixtures. Bilic’s reward is to offer him a new deal.

While they have still lost to the likes of Leicester, Manchester United and Manchester City in the Premier League, their wins have been extremely convincing.

West Ham’s administration team board were also pleased with the manager’s handling of the situation involving Dimitri Payet, who refused to play for the team before sealing a £25m return to Marseille at the end of January.

Their new and improved form has seen them move into the top-half of the table, only 11 points off the top seven, which is a great accomplishment considering their form at the start of the season.

And surely reassuring the team about their coach’s future will improve their chances of building upon their recent progress, on top of the tremendous amount of promise they showed last season
