Reigning Vitality Super League champions Wasps will be this weekends visitors to the Copper Box Arena. They will play London Pulse in the third game of the season.
London Pulse, the capital’s first team in the Super League, say they hope to inspire a new generation of young netball players. Their vision is to ‘become the home for netball in London reflecting all of our communities.’
Two games have been played in the season so far. Their first game in the top flight saw Pulse secure a tight 49-51 against Severn Stars in Birmingham.
After that positive start, the Londoners then succumbed to a 40-67 home defeat to Celtic Dragons.
They’ll be hoping to claim three points at home for the first time this season on Saturday.
Their opponents, Wasps Netball, come into the game on a stronger run of form. The 2018 champions are currently second in the league. Although they have the same number of points as their 7th place hosts, London Pulse.
If London Pulse can pull off the win, then the upset could provide momentum for the rest of the season.
The East London team will play 7 games at the Copper Box in Queen Elizabeth Park over the remainder of the season.
