Loan agreed for Phillips to West Ham till the end of the season as the 28-year-old hopes to get more game time ahead of selection for Euro 2024.
Phillips joined Manchester City from Leeds United for £45million on a six-year contract in July 2022. However the midfielder has not started a single Premier League match this season.
Crystal Palace and Newcastle were also interested in Phillips but he opted for West Ham. Possibly hoping to follow in Jesse Lingard’s footsteps when on loan to West Ham in 2021.
Lingard had a great season at the club scoring nine goals in sixteen appearances. Winning both the Premier League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month.
Ahead of Euro 2024 Phillips will hope to gain more game time at the club.
