Hodgson’s replacement is set to be Austrian National, Oliver Glasner, who over ten years, has experience managing four different teams. Eintracht Frankfurt in particular, saw great success under Glasner’s management, with him guiding them to their 2021/2022 Europa League victory, beating Rangers in a penalty shootout during his first season.
This will be the second time Hodgson has departed from Crystal Palace F.C home ground, Selhurst Park. He was reappointed his role on a one-year contract in March 2023, after his prior success with the Eagles. This was following the dismissal of Patrick Vieira after his failure guide the team to victory.
Hodgson is unfortunately, not likely to see the end of that deal with his mentorship now placing Palace at risk of heading into the relegation zone.
The press conference set for later today is being rescheduled as Roy Hodgson is said to be unwell.
