The Premier League match between Chelsea and Arsenal has been postponed after Chelsea’s victory against Leeds in the FA Cup’s fifth round.
Originally, Chelsea were due to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on 16 March. However, their win against Leeds secured them a place in the FA Cup quarter-final, which takes place on the weekend of 16-17 March.
The two teams drew until Conor Gallagher ended the game with a last minute goal, bringing the score to 3-2.
This secured Chelsea’s spot in the final eight where they will play Leicester City that weekend.
In contrast, Arsenal lost to Liverpool 2-0 on 4 January, ending their FA Cup run.
In a statement, Arsenal announced they would announce a new fixture in due course.
It’s assumed that the game will take place during midweek, either on game week 34 on 20 April or game week 37 on 21 May.
The rescheduling of this game means that Arsenal will go 19 days without a fixture following their Champions League match against FC Porto on 12 March. Following this break, Arsenal will face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium for the league title on 29 March.
Chelsea prepare for their match against Leicester City, following their 1-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup finals against Liverpool last weekend.
