A GMB research shows today that average rents have raised to over 60% of earnings in Hackney, Islington and Camden in 2016.
Average rent prices for two-bedroom apartments in London have jumped to more than 50% of earnings and over 60% in areas including Hackney, Islington and Camden.
The government and councils are working hand-to-hand in order to solve this housing crisis running since 2008. Last year £24 billion was spent on housing benefit but with no important changes being made yet.
