A petition, calling for Government to freeze the implementation of planned business rates rises in Islington, has reached nearly 200 signatures.
It claims the rate hikes – which will be applied to all Islington properties used for business – could see small and medium sized businesses forced to close or move out of the borough.
Businesses across North London are facing rises of 45% – when the revaluation of business premises is implemented in April.
