Yesterday evening Islington Green Party held a public meeting in Islington Town Hall discussing the latest results of their new Citizen Science Project.
The borough’s air pollution levels have been so high that the Mayor of London has recently issued a health warning.
The new Citizen Science project enables people to measure air pollution in a particular spot in Islington with a test tube.
Results discussed last night show that the air pollution on Tufnall Park Road is particularly high, exceeding EU recommended safety limits by up to 193%.
The Green Party will continue with the science project, with test tubes being put up in various pollution hotspots
Attendees heard from experts such as UCL’s Professor Andreas Sella and Community Nurse Ciara Murphy.
