A new development that plans to build one hundred private-rented flats has been announced today.
The development will be built on City Road.
The developers Berkley Group have come under fire after they announced that there will be no affordable housing on the site.
This is despite policy requiring 50 percent of new residential developments to be affordable.
They have agreed to build 56 affordable properties elsewhere.
A spokesperson from Hackney Citizens UK told City News “this is yet another example of ‘ghettoisation’ where affordable housing is being pushed to the borough’s outskirts.’
